Our COVID-19 Policies & Procedures

Coronavirus: The virus can be spread by inhaling respiratory droplets of an infected person, or touching a contaminated surface then touching your eyes/nose/mouth. An infected person can be contagious days before they show symptoms and before they are aware they are sick. As such, extra precautions will be taken by the studio to ensure the safety of our Rebel Family.

Your Acknowledgement: We will do our best to keep Rebel a safe and sanitary environment, though attending any fitness class puts you at an increased risk for contracting COVID-19 than if you were to stay at home. Attending any class is an acknowledgement of this risk.

Known Contact with a COVID-19 Positive Patient: If you have come in contact with a positive COVID-19 patient, please refrain from attending classes for 14 days following the interaction.

While at Rebel Dance and Pole: We are adapting to new circumstances and appreciate your cooperation so we can keep the studio open. All students and instructors need to abide by our rules in order to keep us and our families safe. If you have a concern, please notify us.

Social Distancing: Please maintain social distancing to the best of your ability while in Rebel Dance & Pole. We like hugs too, but those are going to have to wait.

Masks: Since a simple cotton mask prevents a portion of your respiratory droplets (from coughing, sneezing, and heavy breathing) from dispersing into the air, a mask is required while in Rebel Dance & Pole for both instructors and students.

  • Exceptions:

    • While drinking

    • Persons with health conditions that prohibit wearing a face covering

    • If you are having trouble breathing

    • During intense choreography classes, which will be scheduled as the last class of the day

  • Notes:

    • It is highly encouraged that you bring your own mask.  If you do not have one, we will attempt to provide one for you.  However, there is no guarantee we will have a sufficient supply.

    • Masks with vents are not permitted, as they allow your breath into the room unfiltered.

    • Please save N95 and surgical masks for healthcare professionals

Temperature Checks: We will be checking temperatures upon arrival to your first class each day you attend the studio, in order to screen for fevers.

Water: Please bring your own water bottle(s) already full to class. We will not have our water cooler available at this time. We understand you must remove your mask in order to drink water. Please do this sparingly while breathing heavily.

Class times: We are scheduling classes with a 15 minute gap in between to allow students to leave and arrive with minimal overlap, and giving us time for sanitation.

When to show up: Please do not arrive earlier than 10 minutes prior to class. We are trying to reduce the amount of time spent in the lobby. If you arrive early, please wait in your car until about 5 minutes before.

Changing Room: Only one person will be allowed in the changing room at a time. If you have the ability, please arrive in your class attire so that all you have to do is remove a top layer.

Class Sizes: All classes (pole and non-pole) will be restricted to only 7 students in order to maintain distancing, and prevent sharing of equipment.

Pole Cloths: It is highly encouraged that you bring your own cloth to class and use it only on your own pole. No sharing. If you do not bring one but need one, we will attempt to provide one for you, though there is no guarantee we will have a sufficient supply.

Yoga Mats/Blocks/Straps: The studio will not be providing use of this equipment at this time. For any conditioning classes that may require any of these items, you will need to bring your own, and you will be notified in advance.

Spotting: Classes will be designed to reduce the amount of spotting needed. Although, an instructor may still come to spot you if they determine your safety is at risk. If you are uncomfortable with any spotting, please do not attempt moves that may require it.

Choreography Classes: Due to the exertion of choreography classes, and the potential for difficulty breathing with masks on, a mask will not be required. Classes that do not require masks will be scheduled at the end of the day.

Floorwork Classes: There will be a maximum of only one heavy floorwork class per day, and it will be the last class of the day, as disinfecting the floor is a lengthy process. (e.g. Liquid Motion, Low Pole, or Floor Flow)

Photography: Please do not hand your phone to your friend for a picture or video. Have them either take the photo on their phone and send it to you, or use your own tripod/selfie-stick.

Sanitation (Students): Please wipe down your poles using your cloth to remove any residue, including at the top if you climbed the pole. Please leave out any mats that were used.

Sanitation (Rebel): The following are the steps we will take:

  • Poles, Chairs, & Crash Mats: Any that have been used will be sanitized between classes.

  • Floor: The floor will be cleaned between classes, and then sanitized after the last class of the day.

  • Studio Provided Cloths and Masks: Once used, please place them in the provided laundry bin. We will wash them before they are used again.

  • Common Surfaces: Surfaces such as door handles, faucet handles, and storage areas will be sanitized between classes.

  • Air Flow: Our HVAC system will be on fan (or AC) the entire time students are in the facility, continually filtering the air.
