REBEL 101 Faq's Never taken a pole class before? Please join us! Congratulations on taking the first step towards a new strong and sassy you. This 4-week program will be all about learning the foundational skills for the start of your pole fitness journey. A few questions you may have.... How much is it? Our REBEL 101 series is $125 for all 4 weeks. Each series runs for 4 consecutive weeks and each class of the series is 75 minutes of instruction. Because of the format of the series, each student must complete all 4 weeks to "graduate." **This series is non-refundable and cannot be carried over to a different or future series. IF you are unable to complete all 4 weeks, a credit on your account may be issued at the discretion and exception of the studio, dependent on specific circumstances.** What do I wear? Wear whatever is comfortable and easy to move in. Shorts are strongly recommended but leggings or workout capris will be okay for the first class. Weeks 2-4, you'll need your leg skin exposed to learn your spins and tricks. Tank tops are also recommended but a tshirt is okay as well. Please do not apply any lotions the day of your class. We also ask no jewelry to be worn - rings, toe rings, bracelets, anklets and long necklaces. Watches with silicon straps and no metal are okay to wear. (Sorry, but poles and jewelry are not friends.) What about shoes? No need for shoes. All beginner classes are done in bare feet. Socks or grippy yoga style socks are okay, if you get cold tootsies. What if I have to miss a week? We know, life happens. If you know ahead of time that there's a week you cannot attend, please let us know as soon as possible. If something comes up that day, please just drop us a quick email or call/text us at 540.940.7918 to let us know. Please do not just do a 'No Show' because it can hold up the rest of the class while we wait for you. Can I make up a missed week? Yes, of course! We want to see all our 101 students graduate. We allow make-up sessions IF we are notified in advance. Just let us know as soon as possible and we can schedule one for you. However, due to the high demand of these beginner series, all makeup sessions have a session fee of $40. Makeup sessions are the equivalent of a private one-on-one lesson and are subject to instructor availability. If you are a 'No Show' or 'Late Cancel' for your scheduled make-up session, that session fee is forfeited and an additional $25 'No Show' fee will be charged to your account. If you have any other questions or concerns before your first class, please email us at info@rebeldanceandpole.com.

  • About | Break The Chains

Check out where we started... A lot of work in just under 3 months. Thanks to the help of family and friends, we got it all done in time for our Grand Opening on September 28th, 2018. Staff room Front lobby Front lobby Front lobby Changing room Hallway Staff room Nasty carpet that was removed We got this! There was an additional room? That room was removed! The heaviest and biggest desk EVER! Additional room almost gone. Staff room Studio room 1/3 The Studio History Get To Know Us In 2018, Rebel Dance & Pole was initially founded by 3 women who were passionate about dancing, teaching, performing and competing. They met at a local studio and quickly became supportive of each other and other students who were all training for their first major competition. In spending months rotating between the homes of all the competitors, it became clear that they wanted to establish a more permanent home for all who wanted to learn more, continue competing and grow their strengths. With the support and encouragement from fellow dancers, family and friends, the studio was born. Why the name Rebel? A 'Rebel' is a person who resists any authority, control, or tradition. Rebels like to challenge the status quo. And that is what we want to do with dance; to break societal norms and provide a space to just be ourselves. The name Rebel was chosen because pole dancing is still stigmatized across the globe. We want to showcase that pole dancing can be any style that the dancer makes it: contemporary, lyrical, dramatic, entertaining, or of course, sexy. So join us in rebelling against societal dance expectations, and let your inner REBEL out to find your own creative style! Rebel Boss Babes Shana & Leah Dance is our passion and therapy. Together, we come from decades of dance experience in multiple disciplines between the US and UK. Finding the world of pole changed our view on how we can continue to feel strong, confident and body positive after aging out of traditional dance programs. We created REBEL to allow all who want to dance in a space to learn uniquely, rediscover themselves and feel a sense of family & community. #itsgoodtobeaREBEL #itsallloveatREBEL Meet The Team Find us on Instagram @RebelDanceandPole

  • Studio FAQs | Break The Chains

Studio Policies & Faq's What are the studio's policies? We don't have too many but there are a few simple policies and House Rules that we ask of everyone. Have fun and approach each class with an open mind Be respectful and courteous to your instructors and fellow Rebels If you are at a more advanced level, please register for the appropriate level class. If you choose to do a lower level class, we respectfully ask you to keep your movements to what is being taught or discussed. Otherwise you become a distraction for those that have not learned the more advanced skill or trick yet. Your instructor will give you variations, if needed. For any aerial classes, please remove jewelry- rings, toe rings, bracelets, anklets, and watches. Smart watches with silicone bands and no metal are okay. Poles, lyra hoops and aerial fabrics are not friends with jewelry. Please do not apply oil based lotions prior to class. This is a safety hazard, as they make your skin slippery and get messy as you sweat. Only dance shoes are allowed in the dance studio space. If you're not sure, please ask us. General rule of thumb is if you wear them outside, then they are not proper dance shoes. Please keep coats, street shoes/boots and bulky bags on the shelves in the change room. Any small valuables, such as keys and wallets, that fit in the dance studio room cubbies are welcome. Any items you need to have with you during class (water bottle, grip aids, phone, etc.) must be contained to one of the baskets available in the lobby upon check in. During classes, everyone's bigger items lined up along the walls is a safety issue and also inhibit proper movement due to less floor space. We know you want to show of your new found skills but not everyone is comfortable with that yet. No class spectators. We know you love taking photos and videos of our progress, and we encourage it, but please not during class instruction. Your instructor will give you some time at the end of class for photos and videos. Any videos from a choreo class must also be held off until the end. If you are posting any photos or videos on social media, we kindly ask that you tag the studio and give the instructor or choreographer proper credit. How much is a class? We have a few different class types; Pole, Lyra, Dance, and Conditioning. Drop In pricing varies. Click to see pricing options. I've never taken an aerial class. What class is best? If you've never taken a pole or lyra class before, one of our 101 Beginner Series is where to start. Once you've graduated, you're welcome to join us for other skills and tricks classes on the schedule. We also have several non-aerial dance and conditioning classes that anyone is welcome to join in at any time. Click to see all class info and descriptions. What do I wear? We want you to be comfortable. Wear whatever is easiest for you to move around in. For pole classes, we recommend shorts and tank tops at a minimum. However, beginners may be okay with t-shirts and capri length yoga pants to start. Dance and Fitness classes can be in typical workout or dance attire. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. But I'm not strong enough... You're stronger than you think! You don't need super upper body strength to start. Everyone starts the same, with their feet on the floor and most have little arm strength. With the muscles you didn't even know you had, you'll build up your strength very quickly with basic skills and tricks. Soon you'll to be able to do the more advanced tricks in the air and even go upside down! What should I bring? There's not much required. For pole classes, please bring your own cleaning cloth, a small spray bottle of 70% rubbing alcohol and any grip aides you may want to use. For any classes that are dancing with heels, they must be approved dance shoes. No street shoes. Mats and yoga blocks are available but you are welcome to bring your own for any conditioning class or stretching afterwards. Do I need to reserve a spot? Yes, please. Classes are tailored to who we know is going to be here. We also want you guaranteed to have a pole, a hoop, a chair or a space on the floor. I got wait listed. Now what? Well, class reservations were filled up. But you're next on the list if anyone cancels! When this happens, you'll get a notification that there's an open spot asking you if you'd like it. There is a time limit on your response before it goes to the next person, so act quickly if you want in! You may also check the class schedule in your account profile. If you know you can no longer attend, please remove yourself from the waitlist so that someone else can be moved up or bumped in. Is there parking? Yes, we have a parking lot. Feel free to park in any open space. Are classes only for women? No. We welcome everyone to participate in any class. The only rule is that students be 18 or older to legally sign waivers themselves.
